Joseph Daniel Cook Jr. HOPE Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that compassionately serves the needs of children, who have lost a parent and/or guardian to cancer.
The foundation provides resources of comfort, care and healing for children suffering from parental grief and loss. It is our HOPE that as children receive services through the foundation, it will ultimately positively impact the family and community. We believe HOPE is the catalyst of healing. An estimated 9.2% of children under age 18 (approximately 4.2 million) in the United States have experienced the loss of a parent and/or guardian. More than 72% of the aforementioned number, represents the number of children that suffered the loss of a parent and/or guardian to a cancer diagnosis. Joseph Daniel Cook Jr. dedicated the last four years of his life, to Health Advocacy. He was more concerned about the lives of others, than his own. He pinned an open letter to fellow colleagues at his last place of employment, placed calls, made visits and spoke at various events and engagements to educate and encourage others to seek cancer screenings. His hard work, compassion, Love and courageous spirit inspired us to continue this work. It's a blessing to live a life of service; to which we are all called into. |
