The Joseph Daniel Cook Jr. HOPE Foundation is named after the
Extraordinary Champion himself, Joseph Daniel Cook Jr. Mr. Cook was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Friend, Colleague, Leader and Advocate. He was diagnosed in October, 2012 with late stage Colorectal Cancer. Before his treatments began in 2012, and throughout his journey, he drew closer to God. He advocated for Cancer Screening and the need for greater cancer awareness overall. He encouraged everyone to pursue appropriate health screenings. As he began to advocate, he wrote a letter to family, friends, and colleagues. Additionally, he made public and private appearances. He was frequently called upon to speak to audiences of all sizes and visit other cancer patients to offer words of HOPE and encouragement. He proudly wore his blue Colon Cancer pin, as a sign of awareness. As of October 2016 just before he passed away, more than 229 individuals pursued health screenings, as a result of his outreach. |
